HOA True Believers

the Terms......

"Rudeness is the weak man's imitation of strength"

A fascination with "created" terms marks the writings and letters of many of the sites.  The writers use the terms rather than provide salient facts about the issue or issues they are writing about.  The terms are snide and meant to demean.  The writers never present any justification for the particular use of a specific term, instead relying on the understanding of fellow "True Believers" to know that it is meant as an insult.

Libel - "a publication without justification or lawful excuse which is calculated to injure the reputation of another by exposing him to hatred, contempt or ridicule."  (Parke, B. in Parmiter v. Coupland (1840) GM&W 105 at 108)

"CAI Lawyers"; "CAI Foreclosure Attorneys"

CAI (Community Associations Institute) is the enemy they all focus on.  Any attorney that has a community association as a client is lumped into one of these two categories.  "CAI Lawyers" are in it to "line their own pockets", "forces homeowners to finance lawsuits that they purposely manufacture", "lobbied for - and got - a law that allowed all money in special reserves to be used for their own legal fees without the knowledge and consent of the owners.", "are the corrupt and greedy CAI collection lawyers", "CAI lawyer generously bribe politicians and civil servants, and create incestuous relationships with judges", (from AHRC),  As far as the sites are concerned, they are interchangeable.  The attorney may or may not be a member of CAI, if doesn't matter.  If they represent the association or side against an owner, they are automatically evil.  The attorneys all belong to the bar association too, but that's reaching too far for these cowards.  Even when the Texas Bar Association proposed changes to the state law, they didn't take on the Bar Association.  Oh no, it was "CAI foreclosure lawyers using a new identity for lobbying activities, the "Texas College of Real Estate Attorneys".  Suffice it to say they hate all attorneys who don't kowtow to their diatribes...it doesn't matter what groups they choose to be members of.

"CHUBB attorney"

"CHUBB attorney" is often used on an interchangeable basis with "CAI attorney" or "CAI foreclosure attorney".  CHUBB is an insurance company that, in the 1980's and early '90's, underwrote a significant number of Director's & Officers Liability insurance policies for CA's. During this time it was also affiliated with CAI in offering this policy to CAI's members at a reduced rate as part of CAI's membership benefit package.  Since the D&O policy usually requires the insurer to defend a board of directors against a lawsuit brought by an owner in the association, they are lumped into the "anti-owner" group hated by these sites.   They often imply that D&O insurance would not be needed by a board that does its job right, and therefore this is a cost imposed on owners whereby "all have proved to be rich sources for these people to mine". I guess protecting unpaid, volunteer boards from a very litigious society, which would then put the owners at risk for any award, isn't something a CA should consider.  They take a good, solid business practice and turn it into something sordid.

Gangster Boards

"Lawless association boards - they browbeat, they cheat, they lie. Homeowners can have a home paid for and lose it to these gangsters. In California, Texas, Nevada, and North Carolina gangster boards, lawyers, judges, builders and allied politicians are involved in a racket of filing bogus suits and taking the homes and savings of elderly whites, minorities and single women. Source: Property Rights - Texas"  I guess that elderly blacks don't have to worry.  N nevertheless, they condemn hundreds of thousands of unpaid volunteers as criminals.
